It was a year ago that the brigantine IRVING JOHNSON went aground off Of Oxnard, California. Reports were that an uncharted sandbar, caused by torrential rain run-off caused the mishap. Today, a year later, the repaired IRVING JOHNSON is undergoing final safety inspections and certification before returning to service.
