schooner WESTWARD -- Ocean Classroom





















The schooner WESTWARD stopped in Newport, on her way to New Bedford to take on a class of students for voyage to New London. I was lucky enough to be invited on board, and of course, was set off in their avon to catch these shots.

Portugeuse schooner CREOULA





The former fishing schooner, CREOULA, has been restored by the Portugeuse Navy, and serves as training vessel for future naval officers.

Another Class has joined the fleet for the Falmouth//Funchall 500 race.

PRINCIPE PERFEITO is a 170' 3-masted schooner from Lisbon, Portugal.
Originally built as a "coaster" in Norway in 1949, she has been restored by her Captain, Rafale Silva, and serves as a charter//sail-training vessel.

Draft: 14’ 4.25 m
