Visions of Past Grandeur -- Tall Ships coming Summer of 2008

For many who love the Sea, the image of a graceful tall-masted sailing vessel slicing the waves and throwing a massive bow wake sparks imagination of grandeur in days gone-by. Join us on April 17, for the California Yacht Club’s monthly Yachting Luncheon to experience first-hand a unique audio/visual presentation by internationally renowned author and photographer Thad Koza. With many an adventurous sea-mile in his wake, he will review the fleet of “Tall Ships” scheduled to visit California during the Summer of 2008.
In addition to previewing the some 20 vessels which comprise the Tall Ships fleet for this year, including the US Coast Guard barque EAGLE, the tall ship BOUNTY, and the replica of Christopher Columbus’s NIÑA, additional local Tall Ships: LADY WASHINGTON, HAWAIIAN CHIEFTAIN, and the LYNX will be visiting all of the ports.

Bring your calendar as the visitation schedules for San Francisco, Channel Islands, Los Angeles,
Dana Point, San Diego as well as contact information will be presented.
Special opportunities for young people to sail aboard several of the Tall Ships from port to port will be described in the presentation.
