Bulgarina barquentine KALIAKRA --needs trainees

The Bulgarian barquentine, KALIAKRA, announced an energetic sailing schedule and participation in the Atlantic Challenge for 2009, including 2 trans-Atlantic crossings. It has berths for trainees, and adult guests. KALIAKRA has participated in a number of ASTA and STI tall ships race series.

KALIAKRA is a steel-hulled, 160' barquentine that was built in 1984, and refitted in 1992. Her home Waters are the Black Sea, and her homeport is Varna, BULGARIA.

Thank you, Thad. I was going to sail the Atlantic Challenge on the Europa but, having sailed her across the south atlantic already, I am going to give the Kaliakra a try. I suspect that, comfort wise, she may be a little rougher than the Europa but a little more luxurious than the Picton Castle. Anyone know? I am a complete fool for tall ships and blue water sailing. Glad to meet others with same disease.

Hey! i was planning on sailing the TSAC on the Kaliakra but i decided to go most of the way on the Tecla. I will be sailing on the Kaliakra from Charleston to Boston. This will be m first time on a Tall ship so iv decided to start a blog- if your interested check it out!
